Trail Closures & Alerts
Corridor 7 is closed between BN 45 and RD 82. This will sever the trail connection in the southern portion of the Green Mountain National Forest and all VAST Trails to the north. You will not be able to ride North from the Manchester area or South from the Mount Tabor area.
Logging Operations Statewide - Anytime you have to go through log landings, STAY AWAY from equipment; cutters, loaders etc. Be sure the operators can see you. Stay out of their way. Usually once they complete a task they’ll let you through. Be patient. It’s their work area, not yours!
Northeast Kingdom Trail Closures & Alerts
CALEDONIA COUNTY TRAIL CLOSURES/ALERTS
St. Johnsbury/Danville
Trail 218 from CA30 in Danville to the Interstate 91 overpass in Waterford is closed due to storm damage. The Class 4 road in Danville and a section of private land in Passumpsic has been wiped out.
County-Wide
There is a curfew and posted speed limit on the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail. The curfew is posted from 11PM to 6AM, and the speed limit is 35 MPH. These will be enforced by law enforcement agencies as future use of this trail depends on compliance.
ESSEX COUNTY TRAIL CLOSURES/ALERTS
County-Wide
Please watch for on-going logging operations throughout the county. There are a number of operations taking place throughout the area this riding season. Yield to equipment in the woods and on the trails and ride slowly!
A SPEED LIMIT OF 35 MPH in the SILVIO O. CONTE FISH & WILDLIFE
REFUGE is in effect. This will be enforced heavily so keep your speed under control if you want to continue to be able to ride in this beautiful area. Speed Limit signs will be posted so pay attention!
Brighton/Ferdinand
Corridor 142A will be closed from EX 212 - EX 342 due to logging this season. Corridor 142 North from EX 212 will be plowed and shared use for the first two miles and from EX 343 to EX 341 to EX 342 will also be plowed - please exercise caution and stay alert.
Maidstone
Corridor 98 will be plowed from Browns Mills Parking Area to EX 511 and will have to be shared with Logging Trucks. The SPEED LIMIT…in our LOGGING OPERATION AREAS is 20MPH- MAX SPEED. There are 3 places where the road way will be shared with logging trucks. If you meet a logging truck pull over, slow down or stop and let them by.
The 20 MPH SPEED LIMIT along shared roads will be enforced and you can be certain that if there is abuse or an accident the “SHARED ROAD” will likely be closed to sleds.
Lemington/Averill
Corridor 106 (East Branch) will be closed this season from EX 11 to EX 101. There will be shared use with logging equipment from EX 101 to EX 10. There will also be shared use on Corridor 105 from EX 10 to EX 8. Corridor 97B will be closed in the beginning of the season from EX 104 to EX 105.
Norton
Corridor 105 is closed from EX 30 to EX 16.
East Haven
Corridor 3 is closed from EX 524 to EX 521.
ORLEANS COUNTY TRAIL CLOSURES/ALERT
Westmore
There is a logging operation taking place on Corridor 5 just south of the OS 15 intersection. Logging equipment and snowmobiles will be sharing the road for approximately 2 miles. Stay alert and ride with safety in mind!
Evansville
Corridor 16 is closed between OS 13 and Evansville between the dates of December 24th and January 5th. The trail will be re-opened after January 5th if trail closure and signage are obeyed. Evansville will still be accessible from the OS 14 side.
Willoughby
Corridor 5 through Willoughby State Forest (between CA 96 & OS 14) will be open this winter. The trail has been re-routed around the closure.
Westfield
Corridor trail 105/101 C will be closed between OS 83 & OS 26. There is no trail access directly from Troy to Westfield.
Morgan
Corridor 105F1 from OS 4 to Morgan Center is closed.
Northwest Vermont Trail Closures & Alerts
FRANKLIN COUNTY TRAIL CLOSURES/ALERTS
County-Wide
There is a curfew and posted speed limit on the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail. The curfew is posted from 11PM to 6AM, and the speed limit is 35 MPH. These will be enforced by law enforcement agencies as future use of this trail depends on compliance.
East Fairfield
There will be trail access for gasoline at Stone's Texaco via the Lamoille Valley Rail Trail.
Fairfield
Trail 36 in Fairfield will be shared use for 2 miles with a maple sugaring operation. The landowner will be on the trail with his ATV’s and tracked tractor, please abide the signs and drive slowly in this area.
West Enosburg
Corridor trail 105 is closed for approximately 3 miles between intersection FN 5 and Duffy Hill Rd (Just west of Route 108). There is no access to services in West Enosburg.
GRAND ISLE COUNTY TRAIL CLOSURES/ALERTS
Alburg
Snowmobiles must stay on the trail is the Sand Dunes State Park. The club has worked hard to get a trail through this area and any problems of snowmobiles operating off the trail will result in immediate closure with no re-route option available. We are priveledged to be able to ride here so please respect it!

Lake Dumore
Corridor trail 7A is closed from Lake Dunmore to RD 45.
Hancock
Corridor 100 is closed between the Texas Falls Parking area off RTE 125 and AN 30.
Corridor 250 is closed between AN 45 and RTE 100.
CHITTENDEN COUNTY TRAIL CLOSURES/ALERTS
Jericho
Corridor Trail 2 near Skunk Hollow Road has a Curfew. No Snowmobiles between the hours of 11:00 P.M. and 6:00 A.M.
Milton
Corridor 15A is reopened between CN 32 & CN 25. A re-route has been constructed around the closure.
Central Vermont Trail Closures & Alerts
ORANGE COUNTY TRAIL CLOSURES/ALERTS
Vershire
There is a logging operation taking place on Corridor 5 between OE 105 and OE 40 near the old Ely Mines. Use caution as there may be equipment and falling trees near the trail.
Brookfield
The secondary trail from OE 100 to Allis State Park is closed indefinitely. OE 100 is no longer an intersection.
Randolph
Corridor 66F to the Three Stallion Inn is closed. This cuts off a connection between Bethel and Randoph. A section of this trail will be used as a feeder for local riders to gain access to the trail, but it is no longer a thru trail.
Secondary trail in Randolph between Route 66 and Route 12 dead ends at railroad tracks.
WASHINGTON COUNTY TRAIL CLOSURES/ALERTS
Barre/Groton
Note that intersection WN 94 has been moved towards the top of Butterfield Mountain on Corridor 302 E/W due to a logging operation. There is also a new 2.8 mile trail re-location on Corridor 302 that leads from the new WN 94 location back onto the old trail near intersection WN 9.
Cabot
Trail 232 from WN81 to WN85 to CA18 is closed due to live stock still in the fields, a bridge that has a failing abutment, and a trail with major washout. This will hopefully be fixed and opened by the end of the weekend.
Trail C15 from WN81 to WN100 has a missing culvert and the gate is still closed. The club is hoping to have that fixed this weekend as well.
Waterbury/Middlesex
Corridor 2 is closed due to a logging operation between Route 100 in Waterbury & WN 27. The club is working hard to find a temporary way around but for now this 11 miles stretch of trail is closed. Please seek alternate routes Corridor 17 out of Northfield to Waitsfield or Corridor 15/100 from Elmore to Morrisville.
Duxbury
Corridor 100A will be closed between WN 59 and WN 61 for this season.
Northfield
Corridor 12A is closed between WN 41 & WN 40.
Hancock
Corridor 100 is closed between the Texas Falls Parking area off RTE 125 and AN 30.
Corridor 250 is closed between AN 45 and RTE 100.
Southeast Vermont Trail Closures & Alerts
WINDHAM COUNTY TRAIL CLOSURES/ALERTS
Weston
All trails in the Town of Weston are under curfew per order of the selectboard between the hours of 10 PM and 7 AM. Snowmobiles may not travel on trails in town between these hours or access will be lost. This curfew is striclty enforced so please obey signage in all areas. Also note that Moses Pond Road is posted at 25 MPH maximum speed limit per order of the selectboard. If problems continue in this area riding priveledges will be lost for good so you make the choice.
Saxtons River
The 150' suspension bridge across the Saxtons River is out. This severs the connection on Corridor 5A between WM 60 and WM 61. You can still ride as far as the bridge from the WM 60 side.
WINDSOR COUNTY TRAIL CLOSURES/ALERTS
Bridgewater/Barnard
Corridor 12F between Secondary Junction 92 and Secondary Junction 87 is closed.
Corridor 100 between WR 60 and WR 24 is closed.
All trails along any Class III and Class IV Town Roads in Bridgewater are under close scrutiny. If there are any problems with snowmobiles at late hours, reckless riding or any other issues, all roads will immediately be closed to snowmobile traffic. This will shut off a number of corridor trails so please obey signage and operate safely or you will lose the priviledge of riding in this area.
Plymouth/Shrewsbury
Corridor 4 is closed between WR 80 and RD 67.
Andover
Corridor 12A is closed between WR 53 and WR 54.
West Windsor
The West Windsor Moonlighters are announcing a 10:30 PM curfew on Corridor 5. Please respect the landowner wishes, as we are very fortunate to have this trail. The north and south ends of the trail are marked so it can be bypassed by secondary trails for those snowmobiling after the curfew. Please watch for the signs.
Southwest Vermont Trail Closures & Alerts
BENNINGTON COUNTY TRAIL CLOSURES/ALERTS
Dorset
Corridor 7 is closed between BN 45 and RD 82. This will sever the connection between the southern portion of the Green Mountain National Forest and all VAST Trails to the north.
Snow Valley Ski Area under New Ownership.
The new owner of Snow Valley Ski Area has specific requests. A new trail is being cut up the side of the mountain along the westerly side of the property. This trail will be clearly marked. We MUST stay on this marked trail. The groomer access may be from a trail which will not be open to snowmobiles. If signed for groomer use only, DO NOT USE IT for snowmobiles. The new owner intends to have a private downhill ski area. We MUST stay off the rest of the mountain where he will be skiing.
There will be no trailer access nor access to Corridor 7 from the Snow Valley Road. It is gated at the intersection with Sylvan Ridge Road. Trailer parking and access will be at the 11-30 parking lot and Kendall Farm Road. Anyone riding off the marked trail will be trespassing and subject to a fine. Misuse of the trail on this property will cause our permission to be revoked! Without use of these trails, our north/south trail system (Corridor 7) will be cut off. Please cooperate with this new owner and STRICTLY obey all signing.
Arlington
Corridor C7F (Kelly Stand Road) is closed from the Arlington parking area (BN 20) to BN 19.
Manchester
Corridor 7A is closed between BN 32 and BN 37.
Woodford
Corridor 7 is closed between BN 4 and BN 10 near Woodford. Corridor 7A is open in order to connect from Heartwellville to all points North on Corridor 7.
The Mystery Cabin Trail from BN 70 to BN 80 is closed for the season.
RUTLAND COUNTY TRAIL CLOSURES/ALERTS
Mount Tabor
Corridor 7 is closed between BN 45 and RD 82. This will sever the connection between the trails in the Mount Tabor area and all trails south towards Manchester and Woodford.
Pittsfield
Corridor trail 73 is closed between RD 13 and RD 14. USe 735, 74 or 745 as an alternate route.
Plymouth/Shrewsbury
Corridor 4 is closed between WR 80 and RD 67.
There is a trail detour on corridor 407 from RD 16 to RD 651. For sleds going north follow the detour at RD 16 to RD 65 then to RD 651 and vice-versa for sleds going south .
