Safety Requirement

Six-hour safety course must be completed and passed by anyone born after July 1, 1983.

Certified safety course
Individuals 12 years of age or older must have taken a certified safety course and carry that certification with them to be presented upon demand of a law enforcement officer.

A Law Enforcement Officer's Recommendation
Save the money and/or the hassle of dealing with sending/faxing proof that you passed the course.

An important note is that if ticketed you want to keep the ticket from getting in the system because once there it becomes much more time consuming to deal with without paying the fine.

If you are from out of state and figure that you can get one free ride and then never come back if ticketed, be forewarned that some have lost their drivers licenses because of reciprocity with Vermont and other states. read on Safety Requirement
